IDPA Training Class

IDPA or International Defensive Pistol Association is a shooting sport that uses practical equipment including full charge service ammunition to solve simulated "real world" self defense scenarios. This course is 5-hours long and is intended for those who want to learn the basics of defense pistol handling, understand  IDPA safety and competition rules, equipment requirements and Divisions & Classifications.

Level II Defensive Carbine

This course will teach you the basics of tactically employing your self-defense carbine/rifle and your defensive handgun together as an integrated close-quarters battle self-defense system.

You will learn . . . how to move from cover to cover while engaging multiple targets; . . . how to transition from the carbine/rifle to the handgun and back; . . . how to transition from strong hand to support hand; . . . and while handling multiple malfunctions and disabilities or incapacitations.

Level II Defensive Handgun

This course is designed to increase the student’s proficiency in safety and capability when carrying a concealed handgun, and survivability if in a self-defense situation.

You will learn: … how to fire, load, and conduct immediate action while using your support hand; … how to engage multiple targets; … how and when to use prone, squatting, kneeling, and standing positions;. . . how to conduct facing and distracting movements; … how to respond if disabled or incapacitated.

Advanced Combat Handgun Operating Skills

Refine combat handgun operating skills to high-level, second nature reflexive actions to
maximize survivability in deadly force encounters wherein the handgun is utilized as the
defensive weapon.

Level 1 Defensive Carbine

This course will teach you the basics of handling and employing your AR-type carbine or rifle for self-defense in close quarters battle. Although the course has been developed for AR-type firearms, other firearm types may be acceptable at the sole discretion of instructor; contact your instructor.

You will learn . . . how to carry, load, shoot, clear malfunctions and assume defensive positions; . . . establish your battle sight settings; . . . to shoot from 3 yards to 100 yards.

Revolver Skills

For folks who already have taken Level II Pistol, this class takes what you've already learned and applies it to the wheelgun. Learn the proper use of speedloaders and speed strips; single-hand and weak-hand operation; the three techniques of firing; engaging multiple targets from angles, proper presentation; and how to choose the right gear.

Action Area Orientation

 "The August action area orientation will take place on the normal 4th Sun of the month. Beginning in Sept the action area orientation will move to the 3rd Sun of the month. The 2:00pm time will remain the same."

 

Unsupervised use of the Action Area requires attending an orientation session that explains the special rules and procedures.

Start time is 2:00pm in bay number two* of the action area. Arrive a few minutes early and bring a pen to write with.

Level III Defensive Carbine

Course Length:
The course is one day (8 hours minimum).
Course Objective:
Introduce operator to the operation and manipulation of the tactical carbine/rifle in close-quarters
combat while using cover and concealment techniques.

Course Description:

concealed carry handgun together as an integrated close-quarters battle self-defense system.
