AR Field Armorer’s Course

Two-day course: Everything you need to know to keep your AR up and running.

Course Description:
A course designed to train the designated individual or firearms instructor in the procedures and
methods necessary to maintain and service the AR15/M16 family of firearms, and to diagnose
malfunctions and make field repairs as appropriate and necessary, and to modify the weapon for
specific tactical needs. Training emphasis is placed on the operational needs including the
armorer’s training of operators (shooters). Enrollment limited.
Who Should Attend?
Firearms instructors who will be instructing patrol carbine/rifle courses and/or armorers/gunsmiths,
competition and advanced shooters working on the weapon system, and law enforcement/tactical
operations personnel who deploy with the weapons system, and any other interested individual.
What the Attendee Will Learn:
Attendees will obtain a comprehensive understanding of the AR15/M16 family of firearms to
• Detailed function and cycle of operation;
• Complete and detailed disassembly and reassembly (including sights);
• Detailed and long-term maintenance requirements;
• Serviceability assessments and diagnostics of malfunctions;
• Repairs and system modifications;
• Myths and urban legends;
• Customizing and accessory effectiveness evaluation and completion; and,
• Performance characteristics of model variants – function and ballistics of munitions.
Course Length:
The course is two days (16 hours minimum) including practical and written examinations.
Successful completion of practical and written examinations is necessary for field armorer
8:00 am to 5:00 pm, June 21 and 22, 2014 (Saturday and Sunday, a two-day course)

Course Completion Requirements:
Successful completion of practical and written examinations and complete attendance is necessary
for field armorer certification. Upon successful completion the field armorer candidate will be
awarded a three-year field armorer certificate.
Registration and Course Fees:
Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required. The fee for PMRPC members is $160.00 and
$180.00 for non-members. John Froscher reserves the right to reject any registration submitted on
any grounds.

Weapons Restrictions:
The participant is welcome to bring any manufacturer or variant in the AR15/M16 weapons system
family including properly documented Class 3 weapons; however, the participant must have all
IRS/ATF documentation in his immediate possession while attending the course and, upon
request, present the documentation to John Froscher for inspection. No unauthorized or illegal
firearms will be tolerated in the classroom. ADVISEMENT: John Froscher is a Florida sworn law
enforcement officer and will enforce state and/or federal firearms law while in the classroom.
