Tactical Emergency Casualty Care
Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC)
We believe in carrying and owning firearms to protect ourselves and those we love. The reality is that we are much more likely to use our medical skills to save those lives than our firearms. Do you have those skills? This course goes far beyond a basic first aid class in teaching you those skills. Not only will you learn those skills but also get the opportunity to practice them.
This course meets and exceeds the training guidelines for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care for First Responders as set forth by the Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care.
This 10-hour course will cover:
− Scene assessment and personal safety
- MARCH and ABCDE in assessing priority of care and when each is appropriate
− Patient assessment
− Hemorrhage control
− Establishing and maintaining an airway
− Treating chest and abdominal wounds
− Treating burns
− Treating head and spinal injuries
− How to recognize and treat for shock and hypothermia
− How to recognize and treat common life-threatening, non-traumatic medical conditions
− Procedures for communicating with EMS and range considerations
- Triage and mass casualty events
− First aid kits and trauma bags
