IDPA
International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) has a regular match every month on the 4th Sunday. Everyone is welcome to attend! It begins at 8:00am with registration and squad assignment, new shooters brief at 8:30am followed by a general stage walk through at 8:45am. Shooting will begin immediately following the walk through.
The match follows IDPA rules. You do not have to be an IDPA member to shoot your first match but all subsequent matches will require IDPA membership. Go to http://www.idpa.com for more information.
The cost of the match is $10 for PMRPC members and $15 for guests. Guests sign in at the front gate with the guard and he will direct you to the Action Area Range.
Equipment to bring include a firearm, a suitable holster that retains it’s shape when the gun is drawn, three magazines and a magazine pouch to hold two mags. The equipment must be:
A. Practical for self-defense use with a minimum 9mm/38 Special caliber.
B. Concealable - All equipment will be placed so that when wearing an open concealment garment with your arms extended to your sides and parallel to the ground, it can NOT been seen from the front, rear or sides.
C. Must be suitable for and worn in a manner that is appropriate for all day continuous wear.
We usually set up 5 or 6 different stages that may be scenario based or a drill that tests the shooters skill under different conditions. Typical ammo usage during a match is about 100 rounds but you should always bring more.
Firearms are to be unloaded and in a case when arriving at our range. Firearms are NOT to be handled at your vehicle. Firearms are only to be handled at the Safe Area Tables within each bay with no ammunition on the table.
